Welcome to the fourth quarter issue of Wood News
Wood Group has experienced a further year of strong growth in 2008. We have extended our service range in a number of areas and expanded our international presence - we are now active in 46 countries.
An overview of Wood Group's activities for the year can be found in the section titled 'Summing up 2008'.
Q1 - Wood Group acquires Producers Assistance Corporation (PAC).
Q2 - Wood Group Pressure Control awarded contract to provide wellhead equipment to PEMEX.
Q3 - Wood Group's North Sea duty holder operation achieves first oil.
Q4 - Mustang and J P Kenny awarded FEED for Ekofisk development.
In September, Venture Production's Sevan Hummingbird produced first oil from the UK's offshore Chestnut Field. It was also an important breakthrough for Wood Group - after several years of investment in significant additional capability, the first time they'd been selected as duty holder for a production platform, and the first time this cylindrical FPSO design had been deployed in the harsh North Sea.
The announcement of another world-class engineering specialist joining the Wood Group family of companies has underlined the organization's commitment to innovation within the subsea and deep water sectors.
